成長がとにかく早く、樹齢100年ほどで老木となります。

ポプラの木は、葉が風で揺れると
サラサラと音を立てるのが特徴です。

そんなポプラの木言葉は「勇気」「度胸」
大きく縦に広がる枝葉のように
前向きな気持ちとおだやかな時間をもたらしてくれます。

夏には綿毛のような白い種を風に乗せて飛ばす姿から
英語では「Cottonwood（コットウッド）」
とも呼ばれています。

風にふわりと舞う、その様子は「夏の雪」と呼ばれたり
初夏の風物詩とされていたりするそうです。

力強さと軽やかさを併せ持つポプラの
